William Thomas Sheffield, age 79, of Jackson, GA, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Spalding Regional Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, September 2, 1936 to the late Pete Sheffield and the late Eunice Jaqridge Sheffield. William loved fishing and wrestling. He is preceded in death by two sons, Gary Sheffield and Ricky Sheffield; brother, Frankie Sheffield; and sister, Alice Mitchell.

William is survived by his wife, Shirley Weaver Sheffield; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael Ray Sheffield, Tommy Lee and Laney Sheffield, Donald Benjamin Sheffield; daughter and son-in-law, Susan Marie and Perry Deese, all of Jackson; sister, Dorothy Blankenship of Homerville, GA; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Following William's wishes, no formal services are planned. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com.
