Obituary

Mr. William Richard West, age 82, of Barnesville, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Spalding County Regional Hospital. Mr. West was born November 16, 1933 in Moss Point, Mississippi, son of the late Bennie and Louise Mansfield West. He was a retired MSGT after 21 years serving with the U.S. Air Force and was a counselor for the Veterans Administration working in Griffin, LaGrange, Decatur and Newnan. He also was a realtor in Texas. He was a member of the American Legion, Shriners and the Free & Accepted Masons Pinta Lodge #88.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Pauline West of Barnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Freddy and Sheila Williams of Barnesville; four daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Tim Fletcher of The Villages, FL, Ann and Randy Hill of Prattville, AL, Dorinda and Rick Crispin and Theresa and Tim Murphy of Pascagoula, MS; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Boren of Meridiam, MS and Clara Albright of Ocean Springs, MS and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Ruth Kimsey; a grandson, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Saturday at Breedlove Memorial Chapel with T.C. Meuninck, Tommy Horne and Gregory Plante officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will be at their home and receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
